UK mamas - Question about Badger Notes!

Gooooooood afternoon! 👋

So, I’m being induced at 38wks. I was told by my hospital that I’d get my date/time of induction this coming week (8th-14th I should be informed) as doctor said he will do it sometime within the week beginning 15th April.

My question is:

Mamas who have been induced recently… How did you receive your appointment?
Did it go on your Badger app? If so, did you get a date AND time or just a date? If you just got a date, when did you get informed of the time you were scheduled to be at the hospital?

Thank you!

I call my midwife that booked it in then called labour ward at 8am the day of and then they will tell you a time to go in as if busy they may have to push you back a day or later in the day evening

This will depend more on your trust than the app. My induction in August was scheduled by my community midwife and then I called the ward on the day to confirm they had a bed for me.

I’m thinking if I haven’t heard from them by Wednesday, give them a call and ask for an update?

mine has been arranged by the doctors at the actual hospital.
When I called the other week the midwife confirmed I have been put on the referral list for week beginning the 15th, so I’ll wait/check daily (more like 10x daily) for an appointment then if I don’t see anything, have a call or a letter by Wednesday/Thursday I’ll give them another call. 🤷‍♀️

Have you guys planned induction yourself or been told you need it for medical reasons? I wanted to plan an induction because my last labour was so quick, but my midwife said I cant??

I’ll give you the back story.

1st pregnancy, I ended up getting a severe kidney infection. That is something my body has never really fully recovered from. So was induced at 37+5 as they also found she was passing meconium in the womb. (2013)

2nd pregnancy I went to 40wks. On my due date I woke up being sick, like coffee grounds. I was sent to the hospital and they decided to induce me that day, because of the vomit and because my son’s growth was very sporadic on scans. He was born at 40+1.

3rd pregnancy (this one) - everything had been perfect up until 33wks. I started having severe tightenings, turns out I tested positive for pre-term, nothing happened. Sent home. Went back 2 weeks later, routine check up and they kept me in again for the tightenings. Since the back end of 32wks I’ve been feeling poorly, so 3 weeks of being constantly unwell. So I begged my doctor to do something as was diagnosed with severe SPD and he suggested induction at 38wks after weeks of complaining…

About the pain I was in constantly and how poorly I was feeling all the time. So not so much medical but in a sense it is.

Ok makes sense, I just wanted it because I don't want to give birth in the car 🤦🏽‍♀️

Oh god, I guess you live far from the hospital? I mean you can ask for elective induction or c-section (induction is from wk 38 and section is wk 39 might be different at your hospital) but you literally have to keep asking and asking until they agree! It took me over 3 weeks of crying, begging and arguing with my doctor to get it!

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Hey what are your current symptoms?

I’m 37+5

I’m pretty mobile still but anything over a hour or 2 and I’m in discomfort

Getting up from a sitting position is hard

Some of baby’s movements now are bordering on painful especially around my crotch/pelvis

I’m exhausted very easily and nap every single day

Can basically only breathe out my mouth now and I’m snoring and dribbling 😂

Standing in one leg is very painful 😂

Some waves of pain/ tightening but I regular and mild

Low period type aches

And I feel like a fire breathing dragon with this acid reflux

My nose is growing 😂

My fingers swell slightly and go numbs in my sleep so that and constant toilet breaks keep me up ( checked swelling with MW and consultant and all normal, not a worry)

I also do not want to be social in person like I’d rather everyone just be my penpal atm lol

What are your symptoms?
