So I have a date for my C-section. I’m scared about being awake. I don’t want to miss her coming into this world, but I’m very scared of getting surgery and being awake. Please help with any advice, information. ANYTHING!

I have a emergency c section 2 years ago wit my youngest daughter. I was freaking out because it was soo sudden and I had no idea what was wrong but I also had preeclampsia as well n I was very confused on everything. I was awake during the procedure n I told them I wanted to see her when they get her out. I felt lots of pulling n pressure bt once I heard her cry and see her face all of my worries went out the windows. It is scary bt you’re going to do great. They give you a epidural before they give you the c section you are allowed to have someone in the room with you if you would like. The best advice I can give you is once they give you the okay to try to take a few steps to do it yes you might feel pressure or be in pain bt walking a little bit around the room will help your muscles when they put you on pain medicine afterwards every few hours take it anyway even if you are not in pain because I promise you it will help the first time you take keep up wit the pain you will feel

Worse and you don’t want that happening because it will get to much for you too bare. Make sure you go easy on your body when you go since you are still recovering and no cleaning walking up or down the stairs no carrying anything. When you have a c section you are recovering for 8 weeks please take your time on recovering and please don’t rush your back to work before the 8 weeks. You will do amazing ❤️ just remember you got this mamas c sections are scary bt you are strong and you can handle it

Talk with your nurses ahead of time, if you want them to explain whats happening as its happening. Some hospitals have a clear curtain you can see more through. Talk through your options so you can be as "involved" as you want.

Honestly it’s actually a really calm experience, you’ll have a drape over your chest so you can’t see anything happening on the other side, you don’t feel a thing also the nurses speak to you the whole time which takes your mind off it they let you know what’s happening and they’ll ask if you want the drape down to watch baby come out (its optional I did I was so emotional) baby would arrive around 5mins into the operation so as soon as baby is on you.. you don’t even think about anything else going on around you, time literally flys by! As soon as I lay on the table the only thing that was going through my mind was she’s going to be here in a few minutes! I was just so egar to see her, honestly you will smash it, I completely get “the fear of the unknown” but it’s really not as bad as you must have in your head right now, I’d definitely do it again for my next x

I had a c section and as long as you get the spinal block it’s not bad you don’t feel anything

My baby is 7 weeks old today. I was told from the very beginning I would be having a c-section due to fibroid surgery I had a few years back. I was very nervous about it. The idea of being awake freaked me out as well as the epidural. Once I was in the room and they were putting the medication in. I barely felt. Once my sister was in she was talking to be and to be honest we were actually laughing from the table shaking from the movement and one guy was grunting. All you feel is some pressure and the movement of the table. Once she was out and cried I cried. Then they put the screen down so I could see her. I didn't get to hold her due to my previous surgery. My sister did and brought her over. Once back in the room I finally got to hold her and do skin to skin and it was amazing.
