I’m still waiting too, I rang them up and chased it and because I did it the same day I registered my boy it hadn’t gone through so they had to reprocess it. Not sure if you did the same? Just thought I would mention it x
@Ashleigh hi yeah I did, but I also rang a couple weeks ago and they told me this.. but he said I should get it in about a week after that phone call but I am still waiting x
@Leah oh how annoying! I would ring again, they told me 5-10 days but I only rang on Friday to chase it. Not helpful when your on mat pay 😩
@Ashleigh I’ve literally just got off the phone to them & he said the time scale is 12 weeks from when I applied, I explained that who I spoke to the other week said I’d only be waiting another week and he said no that’s wrong because I applied 6 weeks ago I still could be waiting another 6 weeks 🤯🤯 x

How strange. I applied Wednesday last week and it’s already been backdated and paid today

You can do a claim online - you just need to create a government gateway account - mine went through in around a week doing it all online x

@Leah did you get the text straight after? I did one online and then didn’t hear for a while.. thought it was odd, logged on and couldn’t see an active claim so did it again and got a text this time.. then it all went through within a week x
@Jemima yeah got a text and online it says it’s been received etc & when I’ve rang they can get it all up and that. But jist said the wait can be up to 12 weeks! Just confuses me how everyone seems to be getting it in a different time frame! 🤷🏻♀️ I’m just hoping I get it all back paid from when he was born x
@Leah I just checked online and can see a payment for 17th, that’s after calling Friday. Have you checked to see if any payments showing for you? If not I would call them again because they obviously can pay it quicker as they have for me xx

Did you apply within 48hrs of registering your baby? Mine was held up because I did so the registry office hadn’t put my babies details on their online system so the child benefit office couldn’t see my baby’s date of birth so I was ‘pushed’ to the back
@Megan hi yeah I applied the day I registered which they explained the first time I rang up, but that is also when they said I’d get it within the next week! Which was 2 weeks ago! - just feel like they’re just fobing me off tbh x
@Leah oh really. I had to ring 3 times - first two they didn’t even say about the 48hrs thing. Was the third time that they looked into it properly. I’d deffo give another call and say you’d been told you’d have it by now x

The first two were exactly the same. I applied 30th Jan (also registered 30th), rang for 3rd time on 18th March, got backdated pay 21st March then my regular payment as normal , so 28th March x
Still waiting I checked and it said I won’t get anything until July!?

I applied a week or two after my daughters birth (1st feb) and received my first payment around 2 weeks ago, which is quite fast considering I applied via mail. But from my understanding it can take a few months!
Yeah baby born on 4th February, registered on the 6th Feb and my first payment was 16th Feb
Yep! Not the same but still waiting for second child benefit, on their website it states they’re currently processing claims from January 12th.. 🫣
