Has anyone experienced not being paid maternity pay from there employer even though I’m entitled to it? Handed my matb1 before going on maternity so I don’t understand why I’m not being paid Any advice on what to do and how to get it Thanks xx

Did they send you your pay schedule before you went on mat leave? Have you contacted payroll and HR to check everything has been processed okay?

If you dnt follow up on the matb1 form you sent they will ignore and not do much . And remember you have a limited time to put it in make sure you put it in at the right time and call to check if they got it and ask what's next . So that if they can't give you SMP, you could quickly apply for maternity allowance which is same but you will be getting it directly from DWP. So if for some reason your employer can't give you they should send you SMP1 form to add to the maternity allowance form.

Best thing to do is ask work what's going on

Your Matb1 form needs to be handed to them at 25ish weeks so that's generally a long time before you go on maternity leave. These things take a while to sort out. Did you hand it in on time?

Depends on your employer. I work in the NHS and our managers have to fill in a form with all our dates on as well as send a copy of our MatB1 to payroll so if the form doesn’t get done then no pay. Also have you worked there long enough to qualify for their maternity pay?
