I have been with my boyfriend and the father to my 2 month old daughter for a little over a year now and his mother is a mother that really thinks she comes before his daughter and me and he seems to put her in that way most times and he also always has to call her and tell her everything about our daughters doctors appointments or just anything mind you I am a mother of 6 kids and my oldest is almost 18 years old so I have been doing this for a long time and he seems to think she has all the answers when she only had one child and that he has to get approval from her or that he has to talk to her about everything that goes on in our relationship I told him he needs to put our daughter first or me and him will be no more what should I do?

He’s probably just looking for reassurance from his mum, there’s nothing wrong with that. I understand why you might feel like it’s too much but by the timelines you’ve stated you weren’t together for long before you fell pregnant (absolutely no judgement by the way) so maybe he just needs some outside reassurance. It’s tough but if you want it to work communication is important on both sides.
