Insurance

I had no idea that my insurance was going to charge me $680 just because I’m pregnant. I got my 8 week ultrasound done with the normal co-pay and now for my 12 week ultrasound they are charging me a monthly fee of $130 PLUS my normal co-pay for the ultrasound… did anyone have this happen to them? Am I missing something?

What’s your yearly deductible or oop pay? If it’s $4500 you have to meet your deductible for the year. Also, most insurances will only allow 2 ultrasounds unless your high risk.

I should add the second ultrasound is fine at 20 weeks. That the insurance will pay.

I see. Yeah that sticker price is shocking. I thought it was for the genetic test but they said no, just part of the maternity plan. Ugh, thank you though 🫶🏼

Wow that's crazy! Here in Canada, you don't pay for ultrasound once you have a health card. You may required to pay for some blood test if the insurance Doesn't cover it.
