High temp. Help

My baby has had a cold for the past 2 weeks almost! The last 24-48 hours she’s had a up and down temp, when it’s high it’s around 38.7. Then I give calpol it comes down a little, then spikes back up again. She’s been really unsettled on a nighttime, she’s been crying a lot more than usual. Refusing normal food that she would normally eat. She is drinking formula tho. I spoke to my partner and his reply has been , she’s fine just give her some calpol. I can’t help but worry as a mum. I’m with her 24/7 I know when something isn’t right with her. I don’t know what to do, he makes me out to be overreacting but it’s clear she’s poorly just by how hot she is to touch at the moment.

Phone nhs24 they will be able to advise if you have any concerns at all ❤️❤️

I would definitely call 111. Don't let your partner make you feel like you're overreacting. Trust your instincts. It's also better safe than sorry.

If you’re worried you need to get medical advice. When they’re so young you just don’t know! My LO was like this and turns out he had pharyngitis, would never have known that if I didn’t see a consultant

They say if the temp doesn’t go down with Calpol after 3 days it’s most likely an infection so definitely get her checked by GP if you can x

Definitely speak with 111 they may be able to get you an emergency doctors appointment as its Friday. However I've always found ibuprofen to sort temperatures out better than calpol

Got a doctors appointment and turns out she has an angry ear infection! I knew I should’ve just trusted my gut instinct! Poor little lady :( Thank you for all your comments x
