I love the name Éowyn and once it was on the list it has just become the default, we're using it already (34 weeks). I am conscious that she'll likely have to spell it/ tell people how to say it (ay-oh-win) but that's true for a lot of names (especially Irish ones, which we are). Yes it's from Lord of the Rings 😅 that isn't the why/ it isn't a character inspiration, I just love how it sounds, I do also like Elowen and similar ("real world") names. Thoughts/ opinions? ☺️

I love it but I'm irish 😂 I didn't make the connection with Lord of the rings 😅

Also love it, also Irish 😀 living in UK and we are set on having an Irish name for our boy. Think we’ve found the one that isn’t too hard to spell or pronounce. If I was living at home I would have went all out though 🤣 I love the name Éowyn!

Such a pretty name, love LotR too!! ❤️

Lovely pretty name ✨

I love it and it’s on our list because of lord of the rings

As a big LOTR fan I say go for it, I love that name.

As a HUGE lord of the rings fan, I highly approve of this name!
I have an Erin. Closest my ex would allow 🤦♀️😅

We love it too, but as we’ve already had/got dogs with the name merry and pippin I wonder if we’re going too far with it for a baby girls name as well 🤣 it’s soooo lovely, I’d go for it if I was you!!

I think it's gorgeous! I love E names anyway, they just sound and look so lovely. We have an Elanor (also LOTR) because her dad is a huge fan 🙈🥰

I wanted Éowyn but other half didn’t like it but I think it’s stunning!!🩷

We love it - it was one of our favourites. We have an Esmae but I think Eowyn and Esmae sound lovely together so it’s back in the running if we have another!

My baby girl is 4 weeks old today named Aoife, we live in the uk and only have Irish grandparents.. we constantly have to tell people how it’s said or spelt 😂😂 it’s slightly irritating but I love it and wouldn’t change it ❤️

😍😍😍

My cousin named her daughter Éowyn, I think it’s beautiful!

You know I thought it was weird but I like it! Has a very mystical feel to it. So I guess maybe weird isn't the right word, maybe just unusual? But in a good way! Don't bear this name much

Love it

I love it and knew how to say it straight away...but also irish and a LOTR fan 😂

Love it and didn't realise its LOTR either. We have irish dogs Fiadh and Maeve and our son (25 weeks preg) will be named Conall

Such a cute name! I’ve had to spell my name out/tell people how to say it my whole life, and it only bothered me in high school because I was a teenager. Honestly, it has made me feel really connected with my name and I am more conscious when I pronounce other peoples names, I’ll ask how too. I’d say don’t sweat it overall, it’ll make her a more understanding person! And it’s a really pretty name!

Love the name!

I love it 🥰
