what would you do?

if you had bought quite a big baby item from a close friend (Im talking gave them £300 for it) second hand, cost them nearly £1000 brand new. Then 2 years later they are expecting their second baby and ask for it back, would you expect them to offer something for it even if it’s just £50 or not? i’m just curious

Are you still using it? It’s yours now so if you wanted to sell that’s completely appropriate. I wouldn’t be giving them it for free as they didn’t give you it for free.

@Alix I am still using it but was looking at getting an alternative soon anyway as my LO is growing out of it, so i was going to get it ready to sell but then they asked if they could have it back. they are my best friends so it’s a little awkward and off course i want to help them out, i’d do anything for them. i just wondered whether i was being picky by maybe expecting them to offer a little something towards it so i can put it towards the next one i need to buy which is what i was going to do by selling it.

If they give you nothing for it, you basically rented the stroller for £300.

I would ask for money for it. They sell it to you, you paid and is yours. If they want it again great but you have a full right to price it. I think price should justify the condition of the item but giving for free- nah! 🙂‍↔️

I would say something like ‘I was planning to sell it on for about £x so I have some funds to buy little one’s next one, how does £x sound for it?’ X

@Helen I think that’s the best way to go about it

Just ask for £300 back? Unless it’s in worse off condition?
