Normal poo?

Is baby formula fed? My baby’s sometimes looks like this and I was told by a midwife that the ‘bitty’ parts can just be formula that hasn’t dissolved properly x

yeah she’s formula fed. Is the consistency normal? People are telling me it’s concerning but I don’t see how she’s 3 weeks old I don’t see how her poo would be solid if she’s that young?

My breastfed baby is 6 months now and still no where near solid 😂 - very very runny still so don’t worry!! Xx

Babies can go through phases where their poo can be liquid/softer than usual. I would only be concerned if they had other symptoms such as fever etc. or it was mixed with blood. Just monitor baby to see if they’re okay otherwise but I’d say normal!

Yeah certainly normal for her age, my little girl still has plenty of sloppy/wet poos at 11 weeks old. I wouldn’t be concerned too much but of course you can take her to the GP to have a general check up or perhaps speak with your health visitor x

If you fold the nappy closed ?just fold in half) and then pull it open again is there lots of stringy bits? If so that is mucous and I’d keep an eye on any other signs of allergy eg rashes, hives, upset tummy, lots of spit ups etc

Looks normal to me , formula feeding babies poo ranges alot ,if breastfeeding it can look lighter in colour,it might look more greenish due to the nutritional value in formula as long as there is not loads of mucus its fine x
