How many babygrows/vests/muslins would you recommend?

Hi all
I’m expecting my first in June and I’m trying to organise my hospital bag and general baby items that I will need. I am getting a lot of newborn items which is great but can anyone tell me what would be a realistic amount to source, I have a baby shower coming up and people are asking what to buy but I am not sure. Thank you so much! :)

Dont over do it with newborn clothes. They only last a few weeks. Babies grow so fast. Get 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, etc. You dont know how big/small your baby will be and if theyre on the bigger size they might not fit any newborn clothes. My son was in newborn for maybe 3 weeks and he wasnt born big, he was average 7.5 lbs. He just grew fast. He was also wearing size 9-12M by the time he was 5 months old. Id say 7 sleepers in each size is a good amount. You can also ask for gift cards so you can buy things yourself later after babys born and youll be able to have a better idea of what you need.

I'm in exactly the same position. I can't stop buying bits but my shower is Saturday and so I better hold off.
I mean they're gonna go through at least 1-3 a day depending on poonamis and wet thru. And I've had 2 kids ten years ago. I still can't remember. I think I only bought like 6 of each

2/3 muslins incade its a sicky baby, 2 outfits then a going home outfit, 2/3 bibs. Think about the longrun for presents: baby shower gel, baby shampoo, nappies, wipes, nappy bags, maybe a nappy bin? Maybe some self care stuff for yourself for the hospital to shower after borth? Maybe a book for baby? Cuddly toys? Dummies? Those little scratch mitts? They recommend not to get baby cotton buds though which is what we stocked up on.. maybe cotton balls for if baby has the little grunge in their eyes, it can last awhile x

Thank you both! I have a big baby shower coming up in a few weeks so I’m holding off. How many vests would you say? I don’t know whether I want to keep washing as I know it will be constant. I feel quite overwhelmed at the moment c

In my hospital bag I’ve done 4 muslins, 4 vests and sleepsuits in newborn and up to one month as he’s potentially going to be too big for newborn and 1 newborn and 1 up to one month going home outfit x

Can never have too many muslins. My baby was quite sick so needed loads tbh x

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
