Baby girl is getting her 2 month shot April 29th and I’m nervous. What do I need to prepare for it? I’m not looking forward to the fevers etc .

My baby got his shots on Friday I gave a little Tylenol before we went and no fever but his leg was swollen nothing else

Tylenol ! Was a life saver with my baby girl. We also did a tubtub when we got home to help alleviate some of the aching (no washing, just enjoying the heat from the water) 🥰

Not every child gets a fever. I have never used Tylenol before shots. My son is 19 months and never got a fever from his shots. My daughter just had her 2 month shots, no fever. She did have very sore legs. I would just suggest you make sure you massage the injection site a couple hours afterwards, it needs help moving out of the muscle sometimes (when a baby starts crawling or walking, that movement is usually enough that you don’t have to massage it yourself).

My Ped recommended no meds before shots as it effects their ability to work as well.
We did plenty of snuggles, light light clothes that didn't go against her shot areas, and let her kind of run the show. If she wanted a nap she got a nap, if she wanted a bottle we fed her a bottle, etc. No expectations or schedules.

I had no idea how upset my LO would get. I would just be more mentally prepared next time. Also, she woke up more throughout the night for a couple nights after the shots just like the pediatrician said might happen.

Buy some infant Tylenol to have on hand in case baby is feeling any pain or has any fever after getting her shots.

I have always scheduled feeding time around that appointment. So I am able to give a bottle right after the it's helped with the calming down. I've never had a bad experience. And on my 4th.

My son just got his 2 month shots last Monday. His first set of shots he did great we had no issues at all. This time he didn't get a fever but his legs swell and he definitely was more cranky. I also schedule appointments around feedings and I breastfeed so as soon as they give him a shot I just stick my boob in his mouth and that calms him for the time being. but when we got home and for the rest of the night he was just extra cranky. I assume he was just in pain being that his legs were swollen I eventually gave him some Tylenol and I took some so that he can get micro doses through my breast milk.

My baby got her shots on the 17th. Went by extremely fast. She hated the liquid medicine she has to get. She got three shots. I was able to hold her. And I was immediately able to comfort her afterwards

I breastfed during the shots, I wish I had been nursing a little longer though. And then we came home and did skin to skin cuddles the rest of the day and lots of naps and he never got a fever and was his usual happy self the next day.

Mine did his 2 month shots at 6 weeks. A d he did good. Warm bath to help with the knot in his thigh. And Tylenol. My lil guy slept a lot after his shot and has obvious pain when changing his diaper for a day.

You may want tylonol on hand. Sometimes they will do some numbing before hand. Baby will br tired, but other than that there isn't much to prep for.

Also children's tylonol and infant tylonol are the same thing. Just verify it's 160 MG per 5 ML. If you pick it up at a pharmacy just ask the pharmacist for a syringe and stopper. They will give them to you for free and children's tylonol is much cheaper than infant. Walgreens is my favorite place for this ad their oral syringes don't suck like some.

Tylenol and warm bath .

My baby got a fever that night. Tylenol. Please make sure you asks them for the dose list. Her pediatrician provided us with a dose list.
