I do with the detergent I like! And new clothes are kinda “crunchy” if you know what I mean and using a baby detergent will soften them.

Honestly i don’t even use detergent on that first wash, I just use laundry sanitizer. It’s just to make them soft and disinfect for me.

New baby clothes can also have loose strings on them and throwing them in the wash will take all those away. Along with fuzz or dust from being in a wearhouse/on shelf.

Yes - there are so many chemicals on new clothes

I wouldn’t wear something I bought myself without washing it, let alone my baby.

I do because of the chemicals on clothes and also I have no idea who touched what before I got it. Once my daughter became like 2 years old I’m less crazy

I never have. Two kids never seen a rash.

Yea

I already folded and put away all of the clothes without washing them and there’s so many other things around the house that need to get done before baby, that’s suuuuper low priority. I don’t do it for myself so I don’t feel bad. If I get to it I get to it I can only do so much

I just washed a load of my newborns clothes before putting them up just to be on the safer side.

I’m not planning on it 🤷🏻♀️but I also don’t wash my own stuff before wearing it so ..

It's recommended cause u don't really know what one new cloths like who knows if someone caughed or sneezed on them in store or even if they fell on floor where who knows what was spilled we all know how dirty bathroom floors are really and those germs get on shoes and all over stores floors

I can’t wrap my head around not washing them! I am so not an almond mom or whatever but this is common sense for me, formaldehyde is often sprayed on new clothes, along with other toxic chemicals. I’ve washed every single thing my baby’s going to touch 😂

Just washed 2 loads for the first time.. Just to be on the safe side.. If you have the time, I'm sure it doesn't hurt.

Should i air dry the clothes or put tgem in the dryer after washing them

my kids have very sensitive skin so I had no choice I have always washed them

Only because you don't know where it's coming from before it came to the store or even before it came to you. It could've come from a different country or passed through so much. At least disinfect. I like the clean fresh baby scent

New clothes have chemicals on them. 100% wash them
