Straining to poo 5dpo

I am taking lactulose but I am still straining to poo, trying not to of course but so uncomfortable. I’ve googled it but want reassurance. Can I cause any problems internally straining? I’m very sore now I’ve been to the toilet like I’ve pulled something 😩

I had to go to the GP as the lactulose didn’t work and he gave me Laxido which worked much better so it may be worth a trip

It takes a good while (maybe a month) to get things back to normal again. Straining is never good, but you have to do what you have to do. Speak to gp if worried but it all sounds totally normal to me. Can you up your dose of lactulose? Might make things slightly more comfortable. Sadly the combo of childbirth and pain meds really clog you up. Take care hope it resolves soon x

Don’t strain. Just go for a poo when you feel you need a poo. I didn’t go for a few days at a time when I had my section and it’s still not 100% now at 3 weeks PP, deffo take laxido and lactulose but only go for a poo when your body needs to xx

@Saskia this is the issue, I do need to. TMI but I’m so blocked it wants to come out but struggling. So I have to push hard and my stomach is sore. Will up the lactulose to loosen the stool and hopefully will help x
