I think it’s the luck of the draw with infection. I had an emergency c section 3 weeks ago, dressing on for 5 days then removed. I done everything I was told, airing it out, cleaning it multiple times a day and clean and dry and mine still got infected. Currently on antibiotics and a steroid cream but the difference in 2 days is amazing x
I literally didn’t touch mine, I let water run over it in the shower and then patted dry to keep it clean, but that’s it. 6 months pp now and you can barely see it at all x
I was so careful with mine, 3 weeks post c-section and the R hand side edge is slightly infected and now on antibiotics. Think it is very common
Didn’t touch mine either! Padded with dry clean cloth after showers and after I think 6weeks used antibacterial soap to lightly clean then padded dry! I’m a wimp with blood and injuries so I had my husband check on my scar every couple of days to make sure it was healing well 😅
I did not mess with my scar at all. At first I was only just letting the soap and water run down over it until my ob gave me the okay to wash the area with my soap but by hand. She was specific on being gentle and not rubbing the area. And atp my tape began dissolving little by little and my scar was healing pretty nice and smooth. I always kept it dry( still do)and did not begin moisturizing the area till honestly now with me being 8 months pp. I’ve been using shea butter with infused vitamin e/ almond oil. So far my scar is just disappearing slowly.
I’m here for results, I have my boy in sept so I’m definitely trying to get as much knowledge as possible
