You could submit your request now to reduce hours. It would give your employer more time to sort things out and give you peace of mind whichever way it goes. Plus, it would give you time to sort things out depending on their response. Someone told me to not rush to earn the money now to retire asap because kids are gone when we retire, take the time now and retire later. A bit simplistic and of course not working for everyone quite like that but it's certainly given me the kick up the bottom to do whatever it takes to have time with my LG.

Id maybe recommend if you are going to have issues sign up to ACAS. They can support you with issues but only after you have signed up with them. Yes I’m going back full time in July and have been really struggling with it as the weeks are flying by so quick. They can’t reasonably deny a flexible working request though so be interesting to see what their reason would be to reject it.

I’m having to go back on 3rd June full time and he’s only gonna be 4 months 😢 Went back after 8 months full time with my first and it was fine but dreading it this time around with him being so young.
