In Spain (and Portugal, not sure about other countries), it’s not mandatory to have a car seat when you travel by taxi/ Uber, as this are considered emergency journeys. Sometimes, you can request a car seat (not sure how though). @Keeley you can rent a car seat only if you want. The company I saw (quick google search, not used it), they drop the car seat of your choice at the airport. I’m from Portugal and I was considering this vs buying a car seat for my parents car.
Thank you ladies xxx
We flew to Ibiza last year with jet2, booked a private transfer and took our car seat with us xx
We take our car seat (Cybex z2 clips onto our yoyo) It’s been great as we fly a lot. Although soon at 18mths our LO will need a new seat! I think we will book a taxi with a car seat rather than take one. We don’t ever go on coach transfers so I’m hoping booking ahead will be ok 🤞🏻
@Francesca so can you just ask for a taxi with a car seat at the airport? Thank you Francesca, cool name btw 😁
@Francesca getting to the airport in the uk you can - or ask a family member/friend to drop you off so you have the seats to use. I would call your hotel and ask them to arrange a private transfer for you. They will 100% be able to arrange this for you
When I flew to Portugal I booked a taxi with a car seat. Tbf I think the car seat was probably about as much use as a chocolate fireguard! But we were only staying about 20 minutes away from the airport. I booked it through Ryanair app, do jet2 have a similar option? X
From what I understand, babies will just be on your knee for coach transfers 🤯 but that terrifies me after some dodgy transfers we’ve had. We’re going to Portugal all inclusive with jet2 in June and have the same thoughts! Debating booking a private transfer with a car seat x
