Toddler bed..?

I’m a first time mom and my son has almost outgrown his crib, he’s so tall 😩😅 I don’t really think he’s ready for the freedom of a toddler bed, but I think our days are numbered. So.. how do I do this? 😅 what do I need? I’m definitely anxious, he’s a wild child and I’m nervous about what the extra freedom in his room will mean. Any and all advice is welcome and appreciated!

We got rid of our crib a while ago and used a playpen with his mattress in it. Might be a helpful transition. I'm actually thinking he might be ready for a toddler bed soon.

So, we put toys in the room so if he does get up, he can play with the toys in the room. We took out all the big dangers of the dresser and the changing table. So, at night or during nap time. When he gets up, he'll play, then go back to bed when he's ready. I also have a baby gate at the door so he can't wander the house.

Too tall as in when he stands up he can climb out? Lol. Cause a toddler bed is the same mattress as a crib😂 but when I switched my kids to a toddler bed I just made sure there was nothing in the room they can get into and I also put a camera in their room so I can still check on them

We're transitioning to a full sized bed in his own room now We did a toddler bed in our room since he was 8 months We're putting quiet/soft toys in his room so when he gets up he can settle himself until he's ready to sleep again. He'll also have a lamp that he can turn on. Of course when he wakes up we plan to go in, but I'm just putting him in there for naps for now

I’m in the same boat. I think it’s almost time but I am so nervous about it 😭 my daughter has always been a good sleeper and I’m worried this will turn her into a let’s party all night with the freedom to do whatever.

We love our car bed. It’s a twin and it has rails :)

for us, it was all about routine. we pick out pj’s together, take a bath, clean up toys together, pick a stuffy to sleep with, and go to sleep. there are days where my lo will fight it or want to get up and play, but for the most part, i’ve found if i give her control over little things like picking out her pjs and a stuffy, she’s more whiling to chose to fall asleep. on those rough nights, most of the time she’ll play for a bit and then go right back to her bed and fall asleep. she adjusted quicker than i expected. you know how amazing their little brains are, don’t worry, he’ll do great!
