Weaning and finger sucking

My LO will stick his fingers in his mouth every meal time (I’m guessing for comfort) but when he eats he puts his fingers in his mouth after every mouthful which seems to be the only way he swallows purée. Does anyone else’s baby do this? I worry he’s not ready for food yet as he can’t sit unaided. He’s 6 months and 16 days.

Babies explore with their hands and mouth. It’s completely normal for them to put their fingers in their mouth when trying foods. He’s most likely just exploring it with his mouth and his fingers. My little boy does the same a lot of the time. You have to think a lot of this stuff they’ll have is completely new to them and they’re probably like “what the hell is this” and just want to explore 🤣

Oh yeah it’s totally normal! Doesn’t mean he’s not ready - they don’t have to sit unaided they just have to be able to sit in the high chair. My LB does this - I think it’s just part of the learning
