Christening
I want to get my baby christened but I don’t want to have to spend much time with the two sides of the family in the same place. Any suggestions on how I might get around this? It would only be my family (2sisters and partners, 3 kids and mom and dad and his fam, 1 sister w/partner and kid his mom and dad and Nan.
I’d like to get a cake and stuff but argghh it’s just so awkward

I agree, just go to a family friendly pub, then everyone are paying for their own drinks. Same if said pub does meals, they're paying for their own meal

Perhaps a family friendly bar gathering? They can get drinks etc, and you provide the cake. Then its easy to set off home a certain time!
