Teaching a baby to self settle

My boy is OBSESSED with standing in his cot. As soon as he is laid in it (if we don’t rock him to sleep first), he gets right up. We are trying to teach him to self settle as he still wakes multiple times a night, sometimes hourly, and it seems like it’s just for comfort/needing help getting back to sleep. Has anyone sleep trained/taught little one to self settle when they stand in cot as soon as in it? Any tips welcome please!

I’m experiencing the same! I don’t usually let her cry and just put her down and sing and pat her to sleep every time. But it is exhausting! Starting to think if letting her cry is the only way to end this……

I normally leave my LG if she standing in her cot! I only go in if she’s crying. Will give her a cuddle and then leave even if she’s moaning. She eventually finds a position to sleep in. We did sleep train her with the Ferber method but that was before she could crawl and stand. But since standing it takes FOREVER to get her to sleep 🤯
