Taking Baby Out

My baby is 7 weeks today and my partner goes back to work in 2 weeks! I’ve been wanting to do one outing as a family before he goes back. Anyone else have advice or takes on taking a newborn out in public? Maybe to lunch or something. I know it’s before his two month shots/check up so I want to be careful of going anywhere crowded/indoors.

just feed baby before you go & pack the diaper bag up , take the stroller and keep baby covered!

My baby was born in January, and truthfully, I just went for it week 1. We went to restaurants. We went on walks in the park. We went grocery shopping. we pretty much did anything and everything and it really really helped my own mental health to get out of the house. You can get out and still do it safely. Put a cover over the car seat when you go to the store or a restaurant and when people ask to see him, just say he’s sleeping and you don’t want to disturb him, keeps them away, but it also helped him nap literally anywhere. He’s pretty chill in public and can nap or look around because he’s been out a whole lot. You can start going to a park by yourself to see how it goes and then work your way up. Congrats and best of luck!

i take mine EVERYWHERE. i of course keep her away from people and crowds. go for it and enjoy your time before they leave again! my biggest pieces of advice i could ever give you is: take several outfit changes especially if you plan to be out a while. if you are formula feeding get a dispenser and put water in the bottles and mix them that way instead of a cooler/lunch box. take extra formula, more than you will think you need.

Baby wear if you’re up for it! Our babes naps almost the entire outing in a carrier & it also keeps people out of her face

We’ve gone to a brewery and out to lunch/dinner several times since our now 6 week old was born. He just sleeps in his car seat the whole time, and of course we bring the diaper bag with backup bottles, water, and formula in case in need to make a bottle. And we try to go places in the middle of the day when it’s less busy. Or sit out on a patio if it’s a warm day :)
