Baby lives with a bib at all times! Help

my baby just recently turned three months on 17 April ever since then he's been not sleeping his full 4 to 5 hours stretch at night now he's waking up about every other hour as if he was a newborn all over again. I'm not quite sure what's going on along with the fact that he loves to have his hands in his mouth, nibbling his index finger at all times, and if he doesn't have it in his mouth, he's very fussy. He always has a a lot of saliva and has a bib on for this reason. Could he be teething this early on? Just trying to see if any mamas have experienced this at all. He's very fussy lately and I'm not sure what to do to help him out.

my son does the same thing he’s 4 months it’s normal. they are discovering their hands!! make sure you don’t put him to sleep with a bib on though! i didn’t know that at first

They're discovering their hands and also chewing on fingers while it could be a sign of teething it's also them getting ready for solids/purees by strengthening their jaws/tongues/whatever else and desensitizing their gag reflexes. My son loves to chew on his hand then spread all the spit across his face and at this point I've just learned to let him be covered in drool
