Breech baby

I’m 35+4 had a scan yesterday and baby is breech. I have a scan booked for 36+1 next week to see position of baby. Has anyone had an ECV previously or delivered baby breech?

My boy was breech at 36 week appointment, turned by himself, most do apparently!

@Anna my worry is he will turn again as last week he was head down and now he’s flipped again and I have polyhydramnios so extra fluid

Mine is breech now and i’m 39 weeks he hasnt turned and i opted out of the ECV so booked in for a c section

@Caitlin had an ecv last week - was successful and baby is happily head down and engaged now ☺️ she’d been back and forward since 32 weeks but I’m hopeful she’ll stay head down now - if you have any questions pls feel free to message me!

@Lauren how was the ECV?

@Caitlin it wasn’t the most fun I’ve ever had but they stopped plenty when I needed a second to breathe and the procedure was over within 5 minutes - they knew very quickly that they’d be able to flip her so that helped! And they seem to tend to know if they’re likely to be successful after a minute or two.

@Caitlin my boy was the same, head down the week before. Kept turning, was transverse for a couple weeks after, but now apparently settled in the right spot

@Lauren ah that’s really good to know. He was head down last week but has flipped again and I thought he had. I have polyhydramnios too so I’m worried they’ll turn him but he’ll go back again. I’m hoping though as the fluid seems to have settled now and hasn’t increased again this week it will be ok and he was turn back. I just want to avoid a c section if possible as I have a 1 year old too and he has club foot so will be back and forth to the hospital once he’s here for his casting.

@Caitlin yeah I was head down at 32 weeks and thought all was good and then breech again at 36 and then they did the ecv at 36+1 - I’m now 37+4 and she’s been head down since and is now engaged as well so I’m hoping we’re set! It’s definitely worth a shot with an ecv imo if you’re really wanting the vaginal delivery - I was the same and wanted to try everything before having a section. Fingers crossed he might just get himself head down before your next scan anyways! Did your midwives discuss the spinning babies stuff with you? I didn’t get a chance to try it much but have heard good things about that too! 🤍

I’m 37+5 with a breech baby , they haven’t budged even though tried all the exercises and moxibustion . Opting for a c sections as its safest but have asked to be scanned beforehand just incase their heads down 😂🤞🏼

Baby can turn during labour and birthing a breech baby vaginally is a different kind of normal. Check out spinning babies and keep bouncing on the ball! My baby was breech then head down last week, have a growth scan this Tuesday so also hoping he's stayed that way! Xx

I was breech at 37, now 38 and she's head down ❤️
