Dental work whilst pregnant

Has anyone had to have or set to have any dental work whilst pregnant? I’ve had severe tooth pain in (I think) one molar and it’s causing me unbearable headaches and jaw pain. I have an emergency appointment on Tuesday, but read a tooth infection during pregnancy can be dangerous 😩 Is it ok to wait until Tuesday or a dental hospital job? SOS!

Oh I feel for you!! I’ve had exactly the same issue. I had some work done around the time I found out I was pregnant, and two of the teeth started dying (I was told because you’re immune suppressed whilst pregnant)😭 I also had awful tooth ache, and booked emergency apts for root canals for both. Don’t sit in pain, just go and get them to help you! Make sure you tell them you’re pregnant, as it will be a concern for the X-ray. I have had to have a few though 😵‍💫. They may give you a weeks course of amoxicillin, which worked wonders for me. Hope you manage to get it sorted! X

I had a root canal done about 2 weeks ago, I couldn’t have an X-ray done or have a filling so they just put a temporary filling in. Express your concerns about anything you’re unsure of as I was really nervous about the numbing injection and asked if they could call a hospital to make sure it would all be okay😊xx

I swear I visited the dentist more than the midwife in my first pregnancy😅
