Food refusal

What does everyone do when your little one is refusing to eat? Do you just leave them or keep trying to give different things so that they eat? My son has been refusing most of his breakfast and lunch and it’s worrying me that he’s not really eating!

We keep trying with the same meal, but give her 10 min breaks in between tries. If after the 3rd/4th try she’s not really eating it, we’ll offer her something “boring” 30 mins later, like toast, Weetabix or porridge. We do so this so that she doesn’t get into the habit of refusing food for things she only wants to eat. We don’t offer alternatives either, especially not in close concession! So far we’ve only experienced outright food refusal like twice with one meal so far thankfully.

Mine went through a really fussy phase recently. Usually if she refuses food I’ll do what Shana does and give weetabix or shreddies but she was refusing that too so I resorted to fruit and yoghurt a lot. She came out the otherside and is eating normally now so it didn’t create any bad habits xx
