Throwing cups at meals

Hi! I’d love any advice. Our daughter is really into throwing her cup at meal times and no matter how little I react she still does it (and it’s definitely on purpose 😆). I try and tell her that it belongs on the table, but not luck. It’s starting to drive me a bit crazy as if there’s milk in the cup it normally gets spilt down despite good non-spill cups since she drops it so hard. She’s almost 16 months old

Is she still drinking out of a sippy cup? She may be ready and wanting an open cup. My son used to do this (he’s almost 21 months now) and I started giving him his water/milk in an open cup. I also ended up buying him a water bottle with a straw attached that he mainly drinks out of now and the throwing of his cups and things is very minimal - typically only when he throws a tantrum now. In the meantime keep reiterating that the cup stays on the table. Instead of telling her not to throw it. Just keep emphasizing that the cup is meant to stay on the table and to be drank out of.

She is drinking out of a sippy cup and even has some with straws but throws both 😳 I’ll try the open cup (with help) and keep reinforcing that it needs to stay on the table though

When I worked at a daycare and the kids did this 3 times their cup would be taken away until they start crying and wanted it. Then I told them, keep it on the table or the cup goes bye bye again. Repeated and they eventually got the idea
