When your baby is closer to 4-5 months old, or able to sit & have good neck control on their own

My baby is 3 1/2 months. His doc Told me I could give him baby rice cereal and baby food when he’s 4 months because of how well he’s holding his head and neck up. How old is your baby?? 🙂 do they have good head/neck control? You can also ask your babies pediatrician too 🥰

Same as Marie. Dr approved at 4 months bc my baby has good neck control. She can’t sit yet but has good neck control.

I never gave my son rice cereal. I did give him oatmeal. I started feeding my son solids at 5 almost 6 months when he was able to sit well enough and had good neck control. He was also tryna steal off our plates lol so I knew he was ready. First food we gave him was mashed potatoes! Then bananas, steamed/pureed/mashed carrots and other veggies. If I may, I suggest skipping the starchy food and go with the veggies and fruits! I would also make oatmeal banana pancakes with breast milk and he LOVED those:)

And the dr said I could start feeding him at 4 months but I truly didn’t feel comfortable with that. It’s recommended to not feed solids at about 6 months old and earliest is 4 months! Good neck control, can sit upright when supported and will open their mouth if you offer them food means they’re ready to eat!
