13 month old refuses solids

Help! My son STILL refuses finger foods and anything textured. He only wants purées, pouches, and baby cereal. The most textured food he’ll eat is smashed banana/avocado/other fruits. I’m at a loss and feeling frustrated and scared that this is hurting his development. Anyone experience anything similar??

Talk to the pediatrician. It sounds like a texture thing. You could try slowly mixing some solids that are still super soft and can be easily mushed up into the purees and if that works slowly start making the add in more firm

Yes I’m experiencing this. Try not to worry, there is nothing anyone else can do to make your baby eat, you know your baby better than anyone and as long as he is eating! My son is eating finger food but most of it goes on the floor and he spits most out, but he does eat toast and jam so try him on sweet things that he may be interested in (sweet) for new textures then he might be more open to trying more. Or put banana on toast. But most of all don’t worry, he is eating and that’s the main thing

14 months and going through the same thing. The only solids she will eat are chicken nuggets, fries, fig bars and mini cinnamon waffles (she also eats snacks here and there but I don’t count that). Everything else is fruit/veggie pouches. She used to eat pb&j, bananas, and broccoli but no more. She will only eat fruits if I put them in those teething paci things

Ask the pediatrician to ask for an OT feeding referral. They can help with textures

Mine LO (just turned 13 months) takes a couple of bites and she’s no longer interested pediatrician says it’s normal just keep trying to introduce the food. She’s also got molars coming in. I do also believe she’s a grazer though so I just keep introducing them and she’s coming along
