Can you sleep train a toddler

My son is 3 and still sleeps with us in our bed. He doesn’t fall asleep independently and needs us next to him to sleep. We have our newborn in our room and it has become hard having my toddler in the same room . He still wakes up at night and none of us get any good sleep. I’m ready for him to sleep in his own room but I don’t know how to start as he is extremely attached to me. Any suggestions?? Thanks

I’m dealing with the same thing my son is extremely attached to me and refuses to sleep in his own bed. Good luck.

We even bought him a car bed

Yes! My sister in law specializes in this and she can do it via video chat and phone. I will send you her information if you’d like to look into it! She has helped so many infants and toddlers and even a couple 6 year olds!

I’m planning to bring in his mattress in our room and start by having him sleep on there alone but in our room and once he gets used to that completely move him to the his room. Idk if it will work but hopefully it does lol

Make his room really special, decorate it etc and let him pick the blanket. Lay with him in there until he falls asleep then ninja out of there. He might still wake but just take him back and lay with him until he’s asleep again. Yep it’ll be hard but in 2-3 weeks of sticking with it it’ll be much better
