How to deal with MIL

I’m not super close to her on purpose but she’ll of course have to come see the baby. I already know I’m going to be territorial and internally freak out while she’s holding her or doing things to her. I really only feel comfortable with me, my husband and my mom. Any advice?

Sounds like my situation. When the MIL visits I just have to walk away sometimes and let my husband watch baby and her. It is annoying the things she says to my baby (ex. Oh I am just your favorite person) I have to walk away every so often so I don’t freak out.

@Mackenzie That’s probably what I’ll have to do. If I don’t see it, it won’t get to me as much. With first baby it’s so nerve wracking!

I second @Mackenzie sometimes I’ll even take baby with me lol. Hang out in my room and reintegrate after a bit. Most recently my MIL said to my 2 y/o “big girls don’t cry”
