Just curious

So I’m just curious as I’m booked in for next Wednesday at 39+6 for my elective c section. However IF I go into spontaneous labour beforehand I have a feeling it will be late / during the night😅 I’ll have my section regardless but just wondering if it’s happened to anybody else and they’ve had theirs late at night or early hours, when did you get to go home? Same day? With it technically being the same day. Did you have to stay another night? With my second child and planned CS I had him by 15:01 and was out by the next dinner time. This time round I’m first on the list as it’s being done in a separate part of my hospital so for planned surgeries only, so they are expecting me to be down theatre by 9/9:30 am latest and stay that night then I’ll be home the next day. But it never occurred to me until now if I happen to go into labour myself during the night 😅

You typically have to stay for 24 hours regardless of the day but I assume if you were to have the baby at 3am Friday for example they would keep you until Sunday morning

@Marissa thank you! I guess we will just wait and see. Although think he’s too comfortable in there so the chances of him coming on his own before then are slim lol

I have mine tomorrow but have been moved to afternoon so I feel a bit off balance now not having rough times in my mind🤣

Mine ended up being about 11pm. I had to stay in 3 days but had some complications afterwards.

@Marissa aww exciting!!

i had mine at 10:23 pm i was released not the next day but day after

Mine was 10 am on a Thursday and I went home Saturday morning.

I went into labour at work, 10 days before my elective date. I came straight in and got in the theatre queue. They waited for an empty slot and I had my girl at 10pm.
