Has anyone managed to lengthen their baby’s cot naps? We had a glorious 6 days where he was only napping 3x a day with a long nap in the morning, now we’re back to square one with 4x short 30min naps in the day and a miserable baby in between. We did nothing different when he decided to have the longer naps so I just don’t understand.
He’s never slept great at night but now seeing the light and being back to this it’s gotten me down. I’m really struggling mentally and feel so exhausted :( has anyone had a similar experience? I don’t know how much longer I can cope with this day in day out on my own, just don’t want to get out of bed in the morning.

We're exactly the same. 4 or sometimes even 5 short naps a day and now awful nights too. We had 3 days and 4 nights of good routine where things started improving but now feels like we're back to square one (and with even worse nights of wake ups every 2 hours or so). I'm frazzled!

Hey! I totally relate to this. I couldn’t take anymore so we did some nap training which I know is controversial but it’s worked wonders for us! He used to only cat nap for 25/30 mins 4 times a day but now he does:
7 wake
8.30-10 nap in cot
12-1.30/2 nap in cot
3.30-4.30 cat nap (can be contact, on the go, in the cat etc) must be up by 5.
Bed between 6 and 7 depending on naps in the day. It’s important to not let them go over 3 hours in that last wake window before bed as it can make them overtired and produce adrenaline which makes them sleep worse! (Obviously this depends on age) my boys 6 months and still needs 3 naps.

What nap training did you do out of interest?
would also love to know what nap training you did, I’ve reached out to a sleep consultant now as I’m so desperate

I had a sleep consultant and she was absolutely amazing. I saw instant results. It was the Ferber method. So you don’t let them cry longer than 3 mins without soothing them
Ah thanks that’s great to know - got an appointment with a consultant Tuesday, they seem like miracle workers!
