Hi guys. I feel like such a bad mum at the fact this happened, we had a terrible night with baby last night so he came in to our room at 3:30.
He slept safely until 7 and then half 7, because I was so tired I nodded off for 5 minutes. Next minute baby is on the floor crying his eyes out 😢 We took him to A&E, he is absolutely fine just has a couple of bruises on his head.
They made me feel so bad about it because they mentioned about reporting a safeguarding case. I didn't do it on purpose 😭
Has this happened to anyone before? x

Aw, exactly. Just shocks you doesn't it :( xx

My little one did a month or so ago I turned round and in seconds army rolled off the bed. It was awful but she’s fine. I took her to docs to check her over but they said she’s absolutely fine. It’s such an awful feeling x

My little girl army crawled off the bed after me turning my back for half a second, you underestimate how quick they are!! I cried more than she did 😂!
Don’t feel bad, it was an accident x

My brother was carrying his daughter downstairs in a seat when the handle broke. She bounced down half a flight of stairs and the doctors in A an E made a referral to social services - they have to for the child's and their own protection. They visited the house once and that was the end of it so try not to worry.

it is. I felt so bad and I still feel bad now when I see the bruises on his head :( just worried about the safeguarding bit xx

omg I cried so much my eyes are hurting this afternoon. Felt shocking and still do now xx

it was an accident, it's not like I did it on purpose :( just hope we can move on from it now xx

it’s awful, I was an absolute mess about it for days. If they come see you and see everything and know it was an accident it will be fine. My doctor was like accidents happen. We have all been there

Yeah, I guess I'll just wait and see what happens xx

My daughter pounced off the bed last night, headfirst. She cried, I cried, luckily I’m at my mams house so she was there to calm me down 😂 baby is totally fine I’m still not totally fine but as others have said, accidents do happen, as much as we’d like to wrap them in cotton wool they will hurt themselves sometimes! Xx

aw bless you :( you do feel so bad don't you. Did you have to take her to A&E? Xx

We didn’t just as luckily my mam is a
Paediatric nurse and was able to check her over. I probably would have if I’d been at home though, or at least rang 111 to ask for advice. X

My lo fell off the sofa when she was 8 weeks old. She was absolutely fine and we didn’t go to a&e.
Don’t worry about the safeguarding thing, the hospital is just covering their backs. My lo crawled over to the bag last Friday and pulled out the flask of hot water which leaked and burnt her leg and we ended up going to a & e even though it was tiny and it was a right palava. The dr that saw her on the day said that they usually have to do a safeguarding report but they could see she wasn’t being neglected and she was a happy cheery baby so they weren’t going to do one then the hv (who haven’t bothered with us since she was 2 weeks old) rang to make sure I was taking her for a follow up on Monday because if I didn’t they’d get social services involved so I took her but the minor injuries unit wouldn’t treat her and referred us to the nearest burns unit (45 minutes away) and they laughed when they saw her because of how small the burn was and said me going there was a waste of time 🤷🏼♀️😂.
