Femur growth

I went in to get a growth scan today (32.5 weeks) as they wanted to check my placenta had moved away from the cervix.

The clinic sent me the results and images via text, and I have my f/u appointment with doctor on Monday.

Placenta looks like it’s moved … but I did notice on the growth scan report thatbaby is sitting at 50-60th percentile, except femur is at 3rd percentile…. Which seems a bit unusual.

I’m trying to not read into it too much until I have spoken to Dr (there is a lot of not pleasant info online!) but also some reassuring sites.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it possible the radiologist could have done the measurements incorrectly (she was rushing and seemed quite unpleasant) or that the femur just needs to catch up?

Also the femur length actually seems normal range for his gestational age.. but everything else a few weeks ahead … so it is possible that is what is throwing the percentile down? 🤔

My daughter's femur was shorter then what the rest of her was measuring and my doctor said it was fine. She just might have little legs. She's now 16m, she's healthy and above average in both weight and height and has been since birth.

On top of what said, scans have a 20% measurement error. I had to have quite a few scans and my sons femur seemed to be shorter on some scans than on the previous ones… so wouldn’t let it get you too worried or worked up.

I had this issue. All my measurements were 2 weeks ahead. But femur was measuring at the gestational age. It was always between 30-50%. But my boy was born 54cm long - which is 99%ile 😅 so don’t read into it too much. It could just be the angle of the femur is not right or something.

We just had the same yesterday — between 60-80% for all other measurements, but femur was just 25%. Really the measurements were all a bit all over the place! We were told in the appointment and I’ve heard elsewhere everything that others have said above — measurements are approximate and can be very off, and apparently the limb lengths especially. I’m not worried at all, I’m just glad baby has all their limbs, digits, and internal parts 💖 I hope any worries you have feel calmed soon xx

Thank you so much to everyone who has responded and provided some reassurance. Xx

Just been to doctor appointment and all they said was baby is in 50th percentile and that was it! Didn’t seem concerned by the femur percentile! So that’s good news ☺️

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
