Possible Vaginal wall prolapse and Mummy MOT.

5 weeks PP got my postnatal check next week. I think I have a vaginal wall prolapse. It feels heavy down there, and I can see a lump, it's quite uncomfortable. I'm thinking of booking a Mummy MOT. Does anyone have any experience of a prolapse or a Mummy MOT. Thanks.

Hiya, yep unfortunately I have experience of this 😫 I’m 8 weeks pp and have a vaginal walk prolapse (back wall). My gp was absolutely useless! Just said ‘you’ve had a baby, you’ll never feel normal down there again!’ and didn’t take me seriously at all. I was so uncomfortable and just felt horrible so booked myself straight in with a private physio who specialises in women’s health. She was great right from my first contact with her. I had a mummy MOT and she did a thorough check of my pelvic floor, graded the prolapse and checked my stomach muscles. I now how a physio exercise plan and follow up appointments booked. I defo recommend the mummy MOT and speaking to a specialist! Hope this helps xx

How do you go about arranging a mummy MOT? Where do you go? And what do you ask for?

I think if you just go on the mummy mot website you can search for physio’s in your area that are trained to do it xx

@Natalie thank you xx

I had a mummy mot two years ago, the one in SE London is very close to us, but I paid for it and the follow ups, it was well worthy and through. Tomorrow I am going to a different place to have another mummy mot, it’s further away but not too much, and my insurance will pay for it, definitely helpful to assess pelvic floor strength and any prolapse they can even fit a pressary to help with the prolapse. You can also tell your GP during your postnatal check and they should assess and help you, but the mummy mot is a very in depth appointment, checking everything from posture to diastasi recti. Good luck x

Thank you both for sharing your experiences. I'm glad the Mummy MOT was beneficial, will definitely look into it more. X
