what did u ask for in birth plan/c section

@Sam do you remember how long delayed and how long skin to skin before taking baby? x

I think the delayed cord clamping takes about 3 minutes. I can’t remember tbh I was so high on the drugs and I had a few complications so they probably took the baby off sooner x

I had an emergency c-section. We had both cord clamping and skin on skin. Xxx

I got both as standard. Then after her cord was cut by dad and her checks done, she was on my chest for the next 30 mins for close up. I also held her all the way back to recovery and started breastfeeding straight away. The only time she was away was her checks and when her dad held her as I was transferred to the gurney off the theatre table xx

@Sam what drugs did they use for c section?is that the spinal?

Yes they gave me spinal injections it numbed me from just above me chest all the way down x

Honestly don’t. You have nothing to worry about all the doctors and nurses was lovely at my hospital everything was really chilled everyone was really friendly x

Don’t fear the spinal 🩷 doesn’t hurt one bit, acts really fast and wears off faster than any epidural too! I felt everything from my boobs up as normal so I could feel baby on me and in my arms. I felt more of a pinch from the cannula in my hand. By the time I was in recovery I was wiggling toes and bending my knees xx

@Sam its more just the idea of going numb i think that would give me some sort of panick attack

It happens quickly by the time I was back in recovery I was starting to be able to bend my legs and get feeling back. Try not to panic you have nothing to worry about x

If you feel very nervous, let them know. They can give you something in your line directly that calms you down 😊 your anaesthetist is one of the most skilled people in the whole hospital, they know exactly what drugs and how much to give to alter how you feel. They will talk to you throughout to keep an eye on you, mine was singing with me to the radio and making us laugh xx

Yes my anaesthetist was very lovely and calming even with my complications she made me feel so relaxed an the drugs were good 😂 you honestly have nothing to worry about x

Cord clamping possibly up to 5 mins. And skin on skin was pretty much instant my little girl had to have an NG tube fitted so after they done that my partner had her until I stopped shaking and that I felt okay as I was in and out of consciousness for 5 mins but they put her on me when they wheeled me to the recovery and we had our skin on skin xxxx
