Hello all, I’m hoping for some opinions as to whether you guys think my daughter has CMPA.
Her sister had it when she was a baby so we have been very cautious with looking out for symptoms.
My daughter is only 11 days old and from about day 4, my daughter has started getting mucus in her poo which my eldest daughter got. She also gets quite fussy and windy after a bottle. I have since over the past 2 days put her into nutrimagen (we had some from my first daughter) and the mucus has decreased, she isn’t as fussy but sometimes will have outbursts of an hour or so where we cannot settle her . This does only happen once a day though. When she then burps (or sometimes sick quite a lot) she then settles. She sleeps like a newborn should sleep so it isn’t seeming to be effecting her at night. When she was on cow and gate she was a lot fussier but less sick but also had the mucus in her poo.
Does this sound like I should keep her on the nutrimagen or do we think I’m just being silly and she’s just an 11 day old.
My doctor said that 11 days is too young to show symptoms of CMPA but I’m just not sure!

I think as hard as it is, I would wait a few more weeks to switch. There are so many things going for a little one and their digestion. If she has it, other symptoms will apparently begin to show by the end of the two month mark. Just so that she's not put on a hyperallergenic formula if she doesn't need to be. I think its probably worse to avoid dairy if your baby doesnt have cmpa, because then they may end up at a higher risk of developing it due to avoidance compared to taking a few more weeks to see if symptoms get more obvious. Not sure if that helps at all. I know, it's a tough spot to be in!
We were continually dismissed about CMPA with my son until blood appeared in his poo at about 2 months. And while it was sad that it had to get to that point to get a diagnosis, it was also at least an obvious symptom for us to then be able to say, yes this is most likely what he has.
