Potty training resistance

Hi all My little girl is very resistent to potty training. She’s absolutely capable and has been showing all of the signs for a while- her communication & speech is great so she’s well able to communicate with me when she needs to go (which she regularly does). The trouble is, whenever I try and put her on the potty she freaks out. She’ll occasionally sit of her own accord but refuses to go. I tried to potty train her a couple of months back but she had an absolute meltdown when I wouldn’t put a nappy back on her and then started crying every time she went on the potty so I figured it wasn’t the right time. No, I know there’s ’no rush’ however she’s always suffered with atrocious nappy rash (she has very sensitive skin, has been to the dr on many occasions and it’s nothing I’m doing!) and HATES being in a wet nappy so I’m flying through them like nothing else. Any advice?

my girl is the same, but we’re finally starting to get somewhere. I actually switched from a ‘Toilet looking potty’ to a ‘step ladder toilet seat’ and she seems to prefer it a lot more than the other potty. she’s happy to sit on it when not weeing/pooing but the minute she starts having an ‘accident’ and I try to put her on she completely freaks out. I’ve found that taking her every half an hour, just to sit for a minute or so, sing a few nursery rhymes and blow bubbles has helped. When she does start weeing, I literally sit her on it, cuddle her, lots of praise, bubble blowing, nursery rhymes (pretty much anything to distract her 😂). Today she did wee on the potty more individually (albeit a struggle) but she was so pleased with herself after much praise so hoping it could be the start to something. I’ve completely scrapped nappies, put her in knickers so she can feel the accident & only use nappy pants for a nap & bedtime. By no means is potty training a breeze however 😂🥹

@Tayler that’s exactly it, I’m convinced if I could get her to do just one wee on the toilet and give her loads of praise and a treat that it would click, it’s just getting that once or twice in the first place 😅 She knows what happens on the toilet, she knows when she’s going/has gone in her nappy and tells me… she’s just so stubborn. Definitely no idea where she gets that from 🫣🤣
