UC

My daughter turned 3 last week and I received a message from uc today to accept my work commitments. I haven’t worked since my daughter was born and my husband earns around £2200 a month. I’ve been diagnosed with arthritis a month ago. Does this mean they will start calling me for work or I’m in the light zone? My daughter will also start nursery in September 15 hours a week and she is on the autism pathway.

I had the same. They will likely want to see you to see where you’re at work wise, if you are looking for a job or if you are still choosing to not work. I am not looking for work and they are fine with it, but they will probably give you an appointment to see what your prospects are going forward still x

I saw that you said that your daughter is on the autism pathway. Mine is too and I'm really struggling to adjust (I have a 7 month old too) would you mind if we have a chat?

@Janine hi no problem I will send you a dm x

They’ll expect you to start looking for work. If you don’t abide by this commitment they will cut down/cancel your UC claim x
