Solo travel with the baby

Taking a flight to Europe in a couple of months with my 6 months old. Did anyone travel on their own, and how did you manage to carry everything + baby?

I travel with my girl every month, sometimes alone. When she was small I had my onboard wheelie case, her travel pram, her onboard bag over the back of the pram. My travel pram is small and I could take it onboard. You can check your pram in and just baby wear if it’s easier for you xx

Thanks Sarah, what did you do about the car seat?

@Gabriele personally never taken one as I go places where UK car seats aren’t legal (I just rent there or buy and donate). Being a Europe destination you’ll be fine as UK seats are legal. You can take a car seat though and put it in at check in. At the desks you can check a few baby items for free like a car seat, a travel cot, a pram etc. Buy a cover for it though as the hold is not clean xx

Some airports allow luggage drop off the night before, it helps one side at least!

I flew to the US alone with baby when she was about 5 months. I had her in the baby carrier so had both hands free and had a carry on suitcase and a backpack. Recommend the carrier over pram for just having hands free

Same as above, definitely take baby carrier for boarding to give you free hands. Check in car seat before security, I got a bag off Amazon pretty cheap & put her blankets & some nappies strapped in the actual seat. Also, have things out like your liquids & any baby milk/water etc under your pram so they’re easy to get when going through security x
