I by no means have a successful transfer every time…but I put a heating pad in first before I put my baby down, then he tends to stay asleep a bit easier. I also do the transfer as slowly as physically possible and about 5/10 minutes after I think I could probably transfer him. Doesn’t always work and he does still wake up when I put him down but sometimes I’m able to do it and I get some sleep too!
I put in a tshirt that I have been wearing for a while before I put him in so it smells like me. I take it out when I put him down x
@Fizzy is it okay to put a heating pad under the sheet? I was thinking of doing this but wasn’t too sure
@Iona I take the heating pad off just before I put him down. I don’t think you should put them down into a heating pad because I think they’d get too hot. I also put one of my husband’s T-shirts over the mattress so it smells familiar. My husband usually does the last nap of the day. They have a cuddle on the sofa. That way it smells familiar but not like me and milk.
@Fizzy thank youuuu
We had to swaddle our little girl to get her to sleep in her Moses, seems to work well for us. x
As others have said I put a tshirt of mine into the Moses basket and take it out when I put her in so it smells of me. We also bought a tommee tippee swaddle bag as she was waking herself up by moving her arms and legs around and knocking the blankets off and this has massively helped
Thank you all for your comments !x
@Sidony interesting! What did you use to raise it?
@Sharon we just used blackets layered under the mattress so it raised the head end
Off the advice of our health visitor we have raised the top end of the mattress inside the moses basket so baby isnt lying flat but more like she would in our arms.
