Potty training and knickers

We started potty training Friday afternoon, and it was absolute carnage, weeing all over the house. Saturday, we left her nappy free and we introduced a sticker chart and it worked really well, she went on the big toilet all-day with only one accident. Sunday, again left her with no nappy on all-day and she started taking herself to the toilet without us having to prompt her. Only problem I'm having now is that when I put knickers on her, she is treating it like a nappy and just weeing in her knickers, like she would do if she had a nappy on. How do I get her to differentiate knickers from nappies? I'm obviously explaining that we need to pull knickers down before we go to the toilet and not to wee in knickers. Any advice would be awesome ❤️🥰

I am in similar situation kind off so can’t really advise much ! But do u mean it went well when she was knickers & nappies free ?

We went through the same with ours! She was great with nothing on but as soon as she had knickers on she’d didn’t seem to understand. We stuck with it, used lots of prompts “do you need a wee wee?” “Time to try for a wee wee” and we’re all but there now. We still have the occasional accident mostly if she just doesn’t get to the potty in time and we’re just starting to get poops on the potty. It’s a long process so don’t be too hard on yourself thinking she hasn’t got it in a few days, keep at it ❤️

@Omnia yes, so when she has nothing on her bottom half she will just take herself to the toilet, it's just knickers we seem to have a little confusion bless her xx

@Sarah I started with having pants on and was wondering why I feel she is a bit confused and doing as u described about you LO She actually prefers to have nothing but I didn’t allow that

We started last Wed. Our son is just wearing loose trousers, no pants at the moment. From what we've both read, having pants is similar to a nappy and they can't differentiate. Not sure when we'll introduce pants, but he's doing great with pulling trousers down

We just had my son go commando for a week or so while he got used to pulling down trousers. Then upgraded to pants and trousers. Worked a treat as before that he was exactly the same. I think underwear feels very similar to a nappy so it can be confusing.
