Melatonin

Hello everyone, what are your thoughts on taking melatonin to help get restful sleep at night during pregnancy. I have been taking Tylenol pm for the past few nights, but wanted to take something more natural. My doctor said it’s okay, but wouldn’t give me a dosage to start off with. So I’m thinking 3 mg. Please let me know if you have taken it during your pregnancy and if it seems to help.

Get all the rest you can get girl lol. I used this magnesium lotion that had a small amount of Melatonin which was safe for pregnancy. It helped for sure. I’ll take a picture and attach it!

I’ve obviously had it for awhile now 😬 lol

Thank you so much for your recommendation!! I’m glad it helped. I’ll keep it in mind 😊

Unisom is a good one to use too!

I used unisom during pregnancy and before I used melatonin, I love the liquid melatonin because you can control and change how much you want to take. After s while of taking the melatonin sometimes I would only take a drop or two because Pavlov association

I took unisom and vitamin b6 to aid me with morning sickness, was amazing, took it as long as it lasted which was like week 26 this last baby. And then after that I was nearly in my 3rd trimester where as soon as I laid down I was asleep 😝 but honestly do what you need to to get that rest! You are growing a baby and it’s exhausting!

I was advised against melatonin during pregnancy, but I know that's because there just isn't enough data about it, not necessarily because it's proven to be "bad." Because it's a hormone it will probably affect your natural production. I can't say if it would affect baby or not but there's just not enough data to say one way or the other.
