I do the same thing. I just did a sleep test, and I know I do. I go in for results this week, but it's really just for insurance. I also get sleep paralysis every now and then, but that lasts a while and feels terrifying in a separate way. My husband said I sound like I'm struggling to breathe, and I wake up from not breathing after having turned onto my back. My doctor said he actually sees a lot of thin, elementary aged girls coming in for sleep difficulties and finding out they have sleep apnea due to a shallow airway. It could be weight, could be pregnancy, could be you have a shallow airway. If you can, I would see a sleep doctor.
@Bailey don’t know about the apnea part but my husband says I snore since I got pregnant too. I’ve read increase mucus production is common in pregnancy, so maybe that’s why?
@Tiffany yess exactly !! thank you for responding I appreciate it! & yess that’s my plan I’m hoping my doctor can refer me to a sleep specialist fingers crossed 🤞🏾
@Alutza yess before I got pregnant I would only snore when I was super tired but it’s gotten so much worst over the past yr and a half! I’m hoping I can see a sleep specialist or take a test or something to see why! But I’m honestly hoping it’s just pregnancy
I do have it. I had it before I got pregnant and the doc said being pregnant can make it worse. It’s 100% worth talking with your doc about. The cpap machine isn’t the most convenient but lemme tell ya, even at 31 weeks pregnant, I’ve never slept better!
@Nicole okay gotcha! thank you for responding i have an appointment on Thursday so I’m definitely talking to my doc then :)!
@Bailey sure thing! Also a piece of unsolicited advice if you do get a cpap- I got my machine about a month before I found out I was pregnant so they had given me a “nose pillow” mask because it’s less of a hassle. With the pregnancy congestion it was absolutely miserable and I slept way worse. My doc switched it to the full nose/mouth mask and I’m averaging 8-9 hours a night of sleep with maybe getting up once to use the bathroom. Made all the difference in the world.
@Nicole thank you for that girl I appreciate it I’ll keep that in mind :)
Also I didn’t have these symptoms before pregnancy so idk if this is a pregnancy related thing or what!
