Recovery following C-section

Hi ladies! I’m almost 6 weeks pp from an elective section and my tummy and scar still hurt. I’m trying to take it easy but it seems that other people who’ve had the same are up and about / coping far better. I’m curious to know how long it took over people to recovery / the pain to stop / when did you start going on walks and who lifted the pram out of the house? Thanks Xx

I'm 11 days PP from a c section and an defiantly still a bit sore, but can move around fine. I think my recovery this time around has been slightly quicker because I really pushed myself to be up and walking the moment I could. Not that I'm fully healed of course but I'm finding the pain much more manageable this time around.

I'm almost 11 weeks pp and still get some pain ,now and again , I think it's just a little different for everyone x

I started going on walks around 6 weeks and lifting the Pram then too. Everyone's different and some days you still feel shattered and sore. But take each day as it comes. My LO is 2 months and I'm still sore sometimes

I had a 30 week prem Bub in icu I was driving by week 3 it was emergency c I was sensitive till 3 years post partum scsr was sensitive to stretch my arms above my head scar was sensitive fir 2 years. Hiw women go have sex at week 6 is amazing then fall pregnant I wanted no sex at week 6

It took me about 9 weeks to recover, I went too fast too soon.

I am 12 weeks pp from c-section still when i do more house work or do some exercise i feel burning on my stitches more inside and deep and i have to rest. usually takes longer to heal and adviced not to lift heavy weights at all.

I'm 10m pp. Had a very large baby by cs. They had to cut me from hip to hip. It took about 5 months to heal fully and not be painful. I find now when I wear undies that roll down into the scar it gets very tender. It takes time!

I had similar and it was around 8 weeks pp that I noticed the start of the biggest change in terms of pain. I’m now 20 weeks pp and still feel pain if I twist weirdly or push myself too far but since about week 14 I’ve been able to comfortably get the car seat in and out of the car and do whatever I need to (even if it’s a tad carefully with the heavier stuff) The best advice I could give would be to stay patient to avoid setbacks :) It will eventually improve even if it feels like a while. Also I completely get the frustration - everyone around me that had a c-section seemed to be doing everything at 4-6 weeks pp and I could barely bend 🥹

I was pretty good after a week or 2. But I pushed myself to walk even a little as soon as I could and often. Within 12 hours of the section. Just a fine line between to much and not enough

Everyone is different, and everyone feels pain differently, don't compare yourself to others. It's 6m min to heal, don't rush yourself x x

I think this is normal. Now 17 weeks PP and feel good but I felt like it took ages to not feel sore or go on a lengthy walk. I think between 8-12 weeks I saw the biggest improvement, it almost happens without me realising!

I’m 7 months PP and my tummy is still numb in areas🤣 Around 3mth PP I was still sore when my undies would go over my scar so defs recommend sticking to the maternity underwear for a bit longer (I just stopped using them recently) Everyone is different but the one thing that helped with me though with pain was definitely walking further around after the 6wk mark. Even if it was a walk up the road with the pram and back it was good mentally and physically (My husband helped me a lot though when it came to physical lifting, didnt lift anything heavier than my baby for 3 months)

I'm 5 weeks post partum from a planned section. Last week I done far too much and I really felt it..went big walk, drove for the first time and walked a while with my girl in a baby carrier. I got such a fright though, I felt bruised for days and felt back to square one. Definitely not risking it again and this week I've slowed right down x
