I’ve recently been diagnosed with GD and looking for meal ideas - especially breakfast ideas for someone who doesn’t really eat anything other than breakfast cereals if that in the morning

Hi, the best for me which never increased my levels was- 2 multigrain high fibre bread, smashed avo on toast with cheese slice and eggs. This is the best, very filling good for baby and you. And keeps the readings low.

Eggs are a great choice for morning. I love a 3 egg omelette with cheese and a couple of spoonfuls of beans for carbs. It's filling and delicious.
I also really like strawberry and banana greek yogurt smoothie. With chia seeds and peanut butter and rolled oats.
I had peanut butter on wholemeal bread yesterday but that pushed my numbers up. Not to spike level, but close.

thank you - breakfast is the meal I feel like I will struggle with because I usually have it about 6-6:30am so something too filling or hot puts me off 😞

Another thing i used to have it was overnight oats w greek yogurt, chia seeds and with sugar free choc spread in it. But after a while, couldn’t really eat it much.
But the best thing would be eggs.
I never used to have brekkie too. But die to gd and to control ur sugar, you need to have 3 meals and snacks in the middle.
I wake up have coffee with two biscuits, then have 5 walnuts and 5 almonds - overnight soaked.
Then i would eat proper brekkie after 1/2 hours.

Fage yoghurt and fruit was really good for me ☺️ Oats So Simple plain protein porridge, avo on toast & a latte was also fine for me! I noticed if you do something “activel after eating, even if just a walk the reading would be lower, hope this helps!

A few tips:
- make sure your yogurt is never flavored!! There’s so many sneaky sugars in there, even in vanilla. Get plain or bust, and then add your own fruit, honey, etc as you’re able.
- don’t drink juice for breakfast (or soda). If you want orange juice, eat the orange, same with apples, etc. That way you’re getting the essential fibers to digest it properly and slow the spike. I love pique tea, it’s super flavorful!
- Dm me if you want more tips! I have tons that are tried and true and changed my life

Also, there’s an excellent meal program you could give a try. They are super handsome and love to help! They have a free snack plan you can download too. Hellojulienne.com
