I’m so angry with this person! They have actually damaged the jacket i sent to them to try to get me to refund them privately! I sent the jacket in perfect condition and she sent these photos of the apparent damage 😡 tell me this isn’t dodgy as hell! She’s said she’s reported an issue however nothing has flagged up to me. Is there any way i can report her for trying to scam? more in comments

Get in contact with Vinted , as long as you uploaded images of the item I’m sure it’ll be fine d

What do your listing photos look like? I had this once and vinted sided with them as I didn’t take pics as I packed it and they said damage could’ve occurred between listing and posting as it was 10 days between the two. Just something to be mindful of. Xx

How strange. What does she gain for damaging the received item and getting her money back. She’s back to square one basically with money and a damaged jacket?
Maybe it got damaged on route, was the parcel ripped at all when she got it? Looks like it’s been nibbled at or dragged on something!

She could have had the same jacket already and taken pics of the old one? Some people go really out of their way to scam you 😩
Vinted are pretty useless so I wouldn't expect them to help unfortunately

she gets a free jacket basically even with the damage on the collar she could still wear it😣 she didn’t say anything about the packaging, so frustrating

Hate this about Vinted, customer is always right. The fact they can’t even use proper sentences and want to keep the item and refund is a huge red flag. Shame Vinted won’t look at it like that 😣

I would still report her and leave a review. On an attempt to prevent this with pricey items I either make photos or video record the items being packed and I let the buyer know warning them again that I don't do refunds. Luckily I haven't encountered a scammer but I have weeded out some buyers that were either time wasters or were planning a scam.

thanks everyone. it’s so sad that people like this ruin it for the good people. 😞 i’m just a stay at home mum, trying to earn some extra money for my son and baby due in a few months and yet you get trouble like this!

I hate people like this. They clearly know what they want and look for listings where the photos aren’t great so they can damage things on arrival, claim a refund and not post back. Awful behaviour. I’m so sorry this has happened to you.

Someone sent me something in a different size to what was listed and requested a return when I said it's not the right size, vinted sided with her and it cost more to send it back than to keep it. Makes you wonder what the buyers protection fee is even for!
On the plus side, once she sees how much it costs to return (and it is the buyers responsibility to pay for return) she might change her mind 🥲

@Claudia The buyer protection fee is an absolute joke unfortunately

I unfortunately had the same issue a few months back 🙄 sent a practically brand new gymshark outfit to someone, then the buyer put oily hand prints all over it saying it had come like that!! So cheeky! I told her to request a refund and luckily she was happy to take it as it was lo and behold 🙄

Scam

Don’t let her keep it! You can request the item is returned to you before they issue the refund, I’d rather get it back and throw it in the bin than let her keep it if you think it’s a scam.

You can demand her to return the parcel at her own cost. Then when it comes back you can then report it for not being sent back in the condition you sent it in. But the fact she’s asked for a refund straight away before sending the jacket tells me she’s sneaky. You DO NOT have to issue a refund until you receive it back xx

Hi Hun, I had the same thing happen to me and in the end vinted sided with the buyer.
You can try to argue your case though. I tried x

Unless she actually reports an issue with the item correctly through Vinted.. the funds will be automatically release to you
Has an issue come through to you?

Someone did this to me, I sold a pair of shoes for £100 because they was like £400 shoes. She said they never arrived and vinted stupidly took her side even though it said it had been delivered, she got a full refund she found my Facebook and sent me a photo of her wearing them 😡

@Bethany You're joking!? The audacity to do that 😲

honestly I was fuming! I was thinking oh yeah £100 can go towards the baby’s party and then that happened, she told vinted “when I got to the locker it was empty” 😬

@Bethany The lockers have cameras though. Crazy how she got away with that, people have no shame 🤦♀️

Instead of trying to scam ppl they would be better off taking grammar classes. Contact Vinted I’m sure you’ll be fine as you can prove from the listing photos that it wasn’t damaged

What a horrible person!! 🤢 Some people are just so low!!

Omg I sold a jacket on Poshmark and it has super tiny age stains on the white part on one side (it’s a reversible coach brand jacket). The lady sent it back and then when I opened the box it REEKED of cigarette smoke. She definitely went out in it! I was so mad. I contacted customer support and they paid me still, but I’m still so annoyed 😒 she also caused snags to to fabric
