My LO is almost 3 months old and has quite a flat head at the back and a bit of a funny shape. We do tummy time every day and try to turn his head when he is sleeping on his flatter side. Unsure of what to do. Any advise would be appreciated 🩵

Wouldn’t do anything really once they are more upright and mobile it corrects itself. The skull is still forming as the soft spots close x

My little girl has a flat/slanted head! It’s really common! Just keeps up with the tummy time as her will tolerate it, my daughter hated it, so rarely did it and over time it should correct itself, my little girl is 15 months now and her hair cover it now!
Just keep doing what your doing, keep all interesting activity’s to the other side of his head to make him look the other way Xxx

Could be plagiocephaly - I’d bring it up to his pediatrician! If it’s severe a helmet may be needed

Our LO had this and We got referred for physio, they showed us some exercises to do with her head while she was laying down, we did them for a couple of months and went for a couple of appointments. She is 12 months now and you wouldn’t even know she had it, they told us that babies heads change and grow until they are about 2. You are doing the correct thing as much tummy time as you can and turning the head. If you’re concerned the health visitor may be able to refer you, I think we were referred at our 6 week doctors check. x

we went to an osteopath when he was 3 months because of this, turnes out he had some birth trauma that prevented him from comfortably turning his head
we saw better neck movement right away after the first session and his head rounded out within a month or two
if you can afford it, I'd recommend going to an osteopath!

I went to the GP and showed my little girls head which also has a flat bit (she’s 13 weeks). Doctor said it’s very common and there’s not much I can do except encourage tummy time. Once baby is sitting up more it will improve and won’t be noticeable once she has hair. Doctor said not to bother with any headgear or cushions as no proof they work. And to still follow safe sleeping guidelines (baby should always sleep on their back - even if you’re worried about flat head - as this is safest position).

Lots of people are saying it corrects its doesn’t always to better to speak to someone my older son has a flat head still he’s 7 years now so I wanted to make sure with my 2nd we didn’t get it so he had a baby moove cushion when he was in the floor and we did lots of tummy time.

thank you so much, feeling like I’m not doing enough for him🩵xxx
