A lot more than you would think. My first was going through 12/15 nappies a day for the first 4/6 weeks-I would advise getting at two packs of nappies to start you off and then do a regular boots order depending on what you go though. Also water wipes are great but can’t go wrong with cotton wool and warm water in the first few weeks. Their skin is so sensitive (which is why so many nappy changes too)

Also if you think you can deal with the washing we switched to reusable nappies when he hit 3 months and it saved us an absolute fortune ( and we get to use them again this time)

ohhh can you tell me about how you wash your reusables? I bought a bunch to use once home from hospital! I use reusable sanitary towels and period pants on myself but like I rinse them and then fire them in the machine with dark clothes. Would I do the same with the cloth nappies??

So I use the bambio mio ones. You have disposable thin liners that catches any poop and they go in a nappy bin as well as inserts that soak the wee up. You wash them all together then on a high temp wash (I also use the washing powder from the same company) i found I was doing a load every 3 days and had a wet bin for the nappies while they built up. I would really advise using something like biodegradable nappies in the first two months…. They go through so many to begin with. We started reusable a when our some was down to 5/6 changes a day which was more manageable with washing. I wouldn’t mix the nappies with other things in the wash

I was gifted some disposable liners for the cloth nappies which I thought was really good! I hadn’t even thought about a wet bin! (Blaming it on the mum brain)!
We do have a good couple packs of disposable nappies that we had gifted to us we can use at the start!
Thank you so much for the advice, I really appreciate it! I’m now away to look for a wet bin 😂
